My 18 month old son has come up with a tiny, sliver of a cut on his penis. He has what "hidden turtle" penis, to begin with. He's a chunky boy, and so the fat around his pelvis pushes down the skin and his penis always seems 'hidden' or 'uncircumcised'. (He is circumcised.) As he's getting older and beginning to run around and be more active, he is losing weight around that area and his penis is starting to look more 'normal'. His doctors told us this is what would happen, so we've been expecting this.
The other day my DH went to change his diaper and found about a golf ball sized circle of blood in his diaper, and we found a hardly visible hairline cut, about a cm long. It is at the underside base of where the head meets the shaft, around the scarred area. DS shows no sign of pain. Sometimes he holds the front of his diaper. He shows discomfort when we put any sort of cream on it. It doesn't look like a cut anymore, just a red spot where we saw the cut. What do you think this could be from?? Any similar stories?? Should I be concerned about something wrong, or just an accidental cut? DH and I have absolutely NO idea where this could have come from. DS removes diaper sometimes, but not the morning we found this cut. Advice??

I WOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW HE GOT THAT CUT. THATS A WEIRD AREA AND ID BE A BIT SUSPICIOUS OF THAT. BUT I AM A PARANOID MOTHER AND QUESTION EVERYONE WHEN I SEE A SCRATCH OR BRUISE. BUT I WOULD JUST PUT NEOSPORIN ON IT.
