My lo's bday number 2 is next month and Im not plannning anything big. Just a few friends with their kids. So I was thinking of buying a swimming pool since Im sure it will be very hot, buy pizza and ice cream. But I have no idea which swimming pool to buy. Ds is tall for his age, he is 35.5 inches tall. The kids that will go, vary in age from 4 to 8 years old. So I dont want to buy a very shallow pool that will be but a puddle for the 8 year old and I also dont want it too deep because of ds. Which one do you guys recommend?

Any other pool than the shallow one would be dangerous for a 2 yo, regardless of his height. Unless you will be by his side constantly (which you probably won't with all the guests). My kids will be 5 and 3.5 this summer but I'm not upgrading our shallow kiddie pool yet (and they do attend swimming cla__ses!). As an alternative, you could use those water slides for 8year olds, with the sprinkles on the sides?

I was looking at one from walmart which is a family pool that is 22 inches tall, it was under the kiddie pools and obviously I wouldnt fill it all the way up.. Would it still be too dangerous??

Well, any form of water can be dangerous for a 2 year old if something happens and they slip under or something. I think the concern is that with all the other kids, guests, and host duties you will have it will be hard to be by his side the entire time. Plus the older kids may play too rough or not pay attention and run over the littlier ones. I would maybe buy a slip and slip or some fun sprinklers for the kids to run through, that might be a little less for people to pay attention to so everyone else can relax a bit. Plus the kids would love running through them!
