Have Anyone Had Twins But Only Detect One Heartbeat

Hi there…so happy I found a place where I can get some opinions from others who have similar experiences. I went to do a ultra sound last week and the tech says I am going to have twins! The Tech just kept saying she has never seen this in her 10 years.. Both babies sharing a placenta and sac (which I googled and it is possible) She also said one was bigger than another Fetus A was 7 wks 4 days & Fetus B was 6 wks 5 days…she basically told me not to get too excited because one might not make it. She sent another Tech in and we all (3 of us total) saw both fetus flicker heartbeats (the smaller fetus was faint) but we can only hear Fetus A. My doctors finally called me and said I’m scheduled to go see a specialist but the results are that there is two sacs like I was suppose to have twins but only one heart beat. I have been reading and seems like this is common? It is possible for two fetuses to be a week apart especially when sharing a placenta? Any stories or opinions that might put me at ease…thank you in advance
