Hey everyone Did you know that this is the same topic in the other board, Clomid Success Stories Feb 2010? They start a new thread each month because they tend to get very long and difficult to navigate. If you are on clomid, u/p or rx, you can go there to talk to a few of the nicest and most understanding people on the forum. They really know what they're talking about. As for the scaremongers... I've been following the clomid/multiples boards and here is my observation: Most people taking clomid u/p are doing so after a m/c or unexplained infertility. After a cycle or 2 of u/p clomid, they are usually RXed it and are then monitored. HOWEVER, MANY PEOPLE GET IT FROM THEIR GP AND ARE STILL NEVER MONITORED. Many people with infertility don't get pregnant on it until the second cycle anyway. Also, I've noticed that on clomid they tend to have higher chances of chemical pregnancies and miscarriage, and might actually be doing themselves a disservice by taking the clomid in the first place as they very rarely get multiples. There is a lot of heartache here, it's not just for the "glory" of having multiples even if sometimes it started out that way. So there you have it, though it isn't any of your business. Nitpicking over someone's grammar is very childish. If we all spoke like legal doc_ments we'd hardly be interesting now would we? Many people on this board are not from America. Those of us who are on the fence about attempting clomid DO appreciate your alternative view, but there has already been a lot of this type of drama in other threads and it's just not new. Thanks for your input, though. I'm very sorry to hear about your experience with twins. :)

wanttwinsasmyfirsts - July 20

Hi everyone, I am new here but have read most of this forum. I won't be TTCing for at least 2 years and just wondering about Clomid sucess stories for someone like me. Please don't judge me. A little bit about me: 24 years old - NO FERTILITY ISSUES WHATSOEVER. Just under 5'3 135 lbs (I want to stress that I am resposible! I was top of my cla__s in high school and graduated from a a rock star college in Boston. I have a stable position and will be promoted in six months to a year guaranteed PLUS a lot more money).I have been with my partner (living together) for over 5 years. He is a drop dead movie start looking turning 25 years old in Oct. We are super in love and have known in each other for 10 years total. We have talked marriage, house, kids (in that order). We are looking at houses in the fall to buy in a year and wedding plans for a year from now as well. Then ideally ttcing the following year. Anywho, I really would like to provide twins as our first and maybe last children. I just really want to experience this journey of two and also want my children close in age. I am not crazy or want to have a bunch of kids for the wrong reasons.I am also pro-choice - I FIRMLY BELIEVE that a woman should be able to do to her body what she best thinks is right for her. Therefore, I want this journey because I think that its right for me. I am aware of the risks a__sociated with Clomid - but its my choice. My sister in law (my FH sis) just had a pair of identical twin girls (naturally conceived). She is preemie herself and she also has a 2 year old daughter and just turned 20. We both think its a little soon for her to have so many, considering she didn't finish school and honestly can't financially support even one of them. Baby daddy is in the picture thank god.But a miracle is a miracle no matter what and its her body/her choice. The twins girls are 7 weeks old now perfectly healthy and so beautiful! They came a month early ( but that was basically expected because momma is 4ft9 and was at 90 lbs when she began her pregnancy). I've been just over moon and wishing for MY OWN SET ever since!! But have honestly secretly wished for twins my whole life. Will be happy with a singleton as well. But since I will be young and have no med history - I figure why not shoot high? I have been researching this topic for weeks now and will probably continue to do so up until we TTC. SO SORRY THAT THIS IS SOOO LONG - JUST DON'T WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE. I am also aspiring writer so hopefully this was entertaining - but don't worry I wont quit my day job hahahaa. Can we get more recent success stories? Also please can I get a response to the below questions? Has anyone else my age tried Clomid and upped their chances for twins while being perfectly fertile? I am hoping for B/G twins. The possibility for Triplets or Quads scares the c___p out of me. However, I am ready to take on the responsibility even though the chances are slim. But since I am fertile now would Clomid increase my chances of having more than two babies? Again I will probably be closer to 26 yrs old when we start TTC but I am planning to take 50 mg of u/p Clomid on CD 3-7 and supplement with evening primrose oil right up until ovulation day. Thanks for reading the above novel lol please reply...

My friend took Clomid for six months (prescribed) and it dried up her cervical mucus. She actually only got pregnant after she came off it. She had a singleton. That said, I kinda wish I had tried for twins with my first one. I think the FSH injectables increase the chances to about 1 out of 3. Clomid increases chances to 1 out of 10. If you'd like twins but don't mind a singleton, I think Clomid is fine. If you are really worried about running out of time to have kids, and want more than one, it might be wise to use a stronger method.
