Hi! I am 4 1/2 weeks pg and have been experiencing (off and on) shortness of breath ever since I found out last week. Do any of you experience this also, and if so, what do you do to deal with it? I also have mild asthma, so that may be the problem.....

Asthma is probably not helping you out, but I found because I wasn't exercising to the extent I was before I have trouble breathing.

I am 24 weeks and I still have shortness of breath. If you have What to expect When your Expecting it explains why it happens, there is a reason for it but I can't remember I hope that helps.

I had it bad, even went to the ER once because I kept almost pa__sing out. The docs found out that the baby was pressing against my lungs, and causing them to be smaller. I was overcompensating, thinking I needed to breath deeper, when really I didn't. It turned out that I was taking in too much oxygen and hyperventilating. They told me to just relax and breath normally. At first it didn't feel right, but I didn't feel faint again, and gradually I got used to it.
