Heredity And Baby Gender

Almost every person in both my husband's and my family has had a boy first (including cousins except for my mom who had an abortion at 16 and then had me at 24) is that a good sign that I will have a boy first? Has anyone else defied the odds?

Funny thing about that heredity thing, in my family there has not been a boy born anywhere in years and years, all girls, on my dads or moms side, it is about 50/50 on my hubbys side, so I was convinced that I would not even be able to have a boy, nobody in my family has boys, what would I do with a boy anyway? Well, my son is now 2 mos old! You just never know. I am so glad he is here and I love him more than anything, but I was in shock when the ultrasound tech said its a boy! My family is thrilled since this is the first boy in forever. You just never know! The funny thing is that two psychic mediums, I like that stuff, told me I would have a boy first before even pregnant. I thought they were obviously crazy. Now, who knows....

I have wondered about heredity causing something like this, but my wonderings were more along the lines of acidic body fluids, etc... that would cause one type (s_x) of sperm to die while the other type didn't. My husband's three sisters each have three children... all nine of these kids are girls. He was the first boy to have children in his family and our first was a boy! I have always wondered if his sisters have acidic v____al fluids that would be harder on the more fragile male sperm than the female ones.
