Does Aspirin Coupled with IVF boost Pregnancy Rates?
Aspirin is an inexpensive, over-the-counter pain reliever, with little health risks. But women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) should not rely on these pills to help them conceive. Since, the stance on how beneficial aspirin may be at increasing the blood flow to the uterus to make it more responsive to fertility treatments is unclear, according to a systematic review of nine studies. For instance, one study looking at 1,449 women in a study who either took a low dose of aspirin, a placebo, or no treatment with their infertility treatment (IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection) found no significant difference in their pregnancy rates. Whereas, another similar study showed that women who took aspirin during their fertility treatment had a 45 percent pregnancy rate compared to the 28 percent pregnancy rate of the women in the control group.
