Depression During Pregnancy
Depression during pregnancy can be a cause of concern since it has been linked to health risks for the baby such as premature delivery. According to the March of Dimes, 1-2 out of every 10 pregnant women have major depression and those women with depression had twice the risk of delivering their baby premature, prior to 37 weeks. Premature delivery is the number one cause of infant mortality. Women experiencing depression during pregnancy are advised to seek help from their doctor.
