I don't know if it's me, or what, but our pup (who is 10.5 months now) has recently (last month or so) been acting ESPECIALLY needy, wanting to be the center of everything...whatever you are doing, it's like he's saying, "ME, ME, ME! What about ME!!"

I have a female black lab, 2 years old. Before I knew I was pregnant she'd come over, sit right next to me on the couch and put her paws on my belly. She still lays right on my belly when we sleep together in the bed (bad habit I know). But it's funny how she knew before me!

I've gotten the same reaction that most of you have with my Boston Terrier, Rocky. He has always followed my husband around & still does but since I've been pregnant, he will follow me around & if I'm outside & my husband goes in, Rocky will stand at the open doorway waiting for me to come in as well. The other morning, he actually laid down on the rug in front of the shower while I was in it & he waited there till I was finished. It amazes me at how perceptive animals actually are.

I have heard stories about dogs acting differently while you are pregnant. Anyone have stories about how their dog reacted to the baby after he/she comes home? I'm curious because my male dachshund has always been a momma's boy. Now that I'm pregnant, he constantly follows me around no matter how tired he is. He always has to know where I am. He was like this before but is even moreso now. He also loves to cuddle up really close along my side to take a nap when I'm sitting on the couch. I wonder how he will be with my son once he's born. I'm curious about any jealousy issues or whether my dog will become just as protective of the baby as he currently is with me.

My dog usually caters to my husband, but since I've been pregnant, she comes and lays on me all the time.

Well, I live on a farm so it's not as if we don't have enough animals, but everytime I wander anywhere near them, especially our horses and dogs, they follow me around and nuzzle on my stomach. Our Arabian has even licked it a few times!
