My 4 yo labrador retriever, who is like my baby, walked up behind me and pee'd right on the floor (something he never does) :-). I was 6 wks pregnant at the time and some say that dogs can sense it.

My Big Baby Buddy is a german shepherd, since being pregnant he has a split personality one is a very protective side the other is a stroppy yet cuddly side he has begun to shadow me the only addmitedly I love it but I have to keep up the same affection when bump is born as to not cause jelousy.

I am 16 weeks pregnant. I have a 3 year old pomeranian and since I have been pregnant she likes to look at my belly and dig at it. She will come over and sit on it. I don't know what the deal is with her but I do know that she knows I am pregnant. I also have a Black Lab. He stays outside. I have noticed he is protective of me, when he never was before. He was too afraid to protect me before and now, when i go outside, he will not leave my side. I live on a hill and when i have to walk down it, he walks right beside me and lets me hold on to his head so i don't fall. He has never done any of those things before.

I don't actually have pets but my mom does. I usually go visit her every week and her female cocker spaniel is so quick to run and jump on you when she first sees you. Although she never barks or licks me I've noticed that when she jumps on me to give me a hug after a week of not seeing me she doesn't hug me from the front like she does everyone else, she hugs my side. It's like she knows not to jump on my stomach. She also watches me when I sleep now. She'll even come and check on me if I've been asleep too long and makes me get up by laying her head on top of mine. It's like she thinks she is a person or something.

My dog, Thor, is more my husband's but since I have become pregnant he follows me from room to room. When sitting next to me he pushes right up against me and nuzzles my stomach and breasts. The cat also has a lot more to do with me these days, formerly being aloof and uninterested. Glad to hear that other people are experiencing the same thing. I feel like Dr. Doolittle!

Has anybody experienced this? My little dog is protective in general. Since I have become pregnant she is snuggling with me more. However, she also has periods where she suddenly seems terrified and runs away and hides under the bed from me. I am wondering if this will pass, as she is our first little baby?
