I am about 4 weeks pregnant right now. We have 2 boxers and we think that they will be fine. I haven't noticed any major differences in their behavior until the last couple of days. Now the male boxer (who is a complete mama's boy all the time) is more cuddly, but not just with me with my husband as well. He is ALWAYS wanting to be in someone's lap. Also, when my sister was pregnant with her first baby, her neighbor's dog was growling at her and she thought it was going to attack her. So her dog came running up to protect her and got in a fight with the other dog. The neighbor sued and she had to pay for all of the vet bills. Personally, I don't think she should have had to pay because her dog was protecting her, and the neighbour's dog could have really injured her and her unborn baby.

I am just seven weeks pregnant, but over the last two or three weeks my boxer has been acting really strange. He will not leave my side and doesn't even like to go outside without me and it used to be his favorite thing to go outside with our other dog for hours and play. He also keeps trying to get into my lap constantly and cuddle like a baby. While he is normally an affectionate dog, he is overly clingy and cuddly now.

I think my girl Satin (a black lab/pit bull mix) knows the baby is coming relatively soon. In the past week or two, she has been obsessed with "cleaning" me. All she wants to do is lick my legs and feet when I'm at my computer or if she's in bed with us she wants to lick my face and hands. She also wants to cuddle real close to me and put her head on the baby. It's really cute. I think she will be a great big sis!

One of my younger cats, Jake, used to be more of a loner type, and didn't want to be touched much (before I was pregnant). Now he follows me around, sleeps beside me, and is one of the most loving cats I've seen! He also has started chasing his own tail. =)

My Border Collie hides in our walk-in closet when I am home by myself. He didn't start this until I was nine months pregnant. When my husband is home he is fine. When I first became pregnant, he followed me around the house and got up with me in the middle of the night when I had 'morning' sickness.

Well, funny you ask! My Jack Russel Terrier has always been lovey-dovey with my significant other and myself for the past 8 months since we've got him as a pup. Now more then ever in the past month I think he has sensed that i'm expecting so his new thing that he has been doing has been either attacking my boyfriend or my dad if they come close to me. It's funny when women come around he doesn't do much, but if males give me a hug etc, he get's so upset! Another thing too is that when I cry (obviously for no reason hehe), he looks at my face and then starts licking me and lies on my belly! I think it's really cute, hopefully when the baby comes he'll be protective of him or her! :0)
