I worked up until I went into labor and had 3 months leave (partially paid). I'm supposed to return on March 1st, but am hoping to work out a new schedule of part-time work and part-time daycare for my son. Though it looks like my ultimate boss may well not approve this (which isn't surprising as I know many people cannot make a part-time job out of a full-time job). In the end, we may just downsize everything and I'll stay home for a few years.

I left my teaching career almost five years ago when my first son was born and it has been on of the best choices I have ever made. We have to juggle finances but the opportuntiy to raise my own children with our own values, morals and love is worth every smaller sacriffice. My husband is quite capabale of shouldering the finanacial burden himself even though it is very hard but having mom at home is worth it

I have the best of both worlds I guess. I work at home, I am a licensed Child care provider. So, I will work up until I go into labor, and then take only 2 weeks off, then work again. But I get to stay at home with my baby while I work. It's difficult at times, but being at home with them is important and making money isn't an option...

I am actually debating whether I will be going back to work. My husband works crazy hours and I am currently working 2-10:30pm. I relocated to Savannah and I do not have family here and it is going to be very hard for me to have someone else care for my son. I am going to try and stay home for at least a year. I told my husband that if it is too much for him to handle then we will have to make arrangements for me to go back to work. We will have to cut back on extracurricular activities.
