I am 21 and this is my husband and I's first baby. We are having a boy(exactly what we wanted) and are due August 8th of 2006. I am so excited to meet him and so is my hubby. We were married exactly 7 months when we got pregnant. My fears are the labor pains..and weirdly the epidural..I am afraid of the pain from getting it. I am not too tough when it comes to pain but God must have thought I could handle it so thats what I am banking on. Congratulations to all of you and God Bless you and your little ones!

I'm a 25-year old first time mom who wants to have as much of a natural birth as I possibly can. But I have already informed my fiance that if the pain is too much for me then I'll take the drugs!!! I hope everthing goes well and quickly in the delivery room because I'm not looking forward to going into labor! But I'm sure this will be the best thing I've ever done in my life and will be worth whatever I have to endure in the end!

I'm a 25 year old 2nd time mom. I've had several miscarriages since my 1st and am so excited. I had practically given up on the idea of having another. I'm now 30 weeks with a healthy pregnancy and plan to do a vaginal birth with an epidural with my 6 year old daughter and boyfriend at my bedside.

I am 34 weeks with our first, a baby girl. My plan is to have the birth in a hospital but with a nurse-midwife doing the delivery. I also want to make sure I do not have an episiotomy unless it's necessary for emergency reasons. I plan on having just my husband in the birthing room... I am going to have an epidural, I don't know how the pain will be, but I'm a little bit scared aobut it!! I also hope to leave the hospital as soon as we can!

I am currently 32 weeks with my first baby and will go with a natural birth (no drugs or epidural) aided by hypnobirthing. I heard about hypnobirthing from my mother's coworker. She did it with her second child and swore it was the best thing ever. She and my mother are labor and delivery nurses so she knows what she's talking about. I have read the hypnobirthing book and listened to the CD's and know this is the way for me. It teaches wonderful breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques to calm you enough to just let your body do what it evolved to do. It teaches you not to fear labor as it is a natural process and your body knows what to do when the time comes. The labor pains that women feel are a direct result of their fear and tension which causes their body to fight the birthing process. I also have no fear of labor pain as I endured 33 hours of continuous excruciating pain from appendicitis several years ago. That pain did not subside at all during that day and a half. My mother says that anyone can stand 60 seconds of pain because it comes and goes and is not constant. Labor pain will be a cakewalk by comparison to the appendicitis.
