I am sooo happy to read everyone's cravings for BLEACH!!! I am obsessed with cleaning my bathroom just so I can smell it. The weird thing is, with my first baby I never craved the smell of anything, and I hate the smell of bleach when I'm not pregnant. I am 32 weeks now and I've been resisting the urge to sniff it for over 2 weeks. I love to clean my sink and then rinse it with HOT water. The smell of hot bleach makes me so happy :)

For some odd reason, I have been having this crazy food craving for rice and peanut butter mixed together. It sounds disgusting but I can't help but want it. There are some other things that attract my senses, like laundry detergent and diswashing liquid. So far those are the only ones I've had. I just hope this doesn't happen with any more of my pregnancies.

I have the worst cravings!! Pine Sol, Comet and bleach...I can't get enough! I clean the bathroom and kitchen nonstop! I also crave ice and limes and salt. I recently read that craving non food items like dirt, clay or cleaning supplies or ice could be a sign that you are anemic. I happen to be anemic, so maybe it is true. Something to think about.

I read constantly about everything pregnancy related. I have read of a pica deficiency which causes people to crave items that are not food. If you're craving something that isn't food, you should seriouly tell your doctor about it. I had a friend that craved cigarette tobacco crushed up in food. I couldn't believe it, but after reading all of these posts I can see that it truly happens. I'm a little sad because my cravings have been very mild. Early in pregnancy I wanted cream cheese (which I thought was weird but maybe it isn't) and I kept dreaming about big ripe strawberries and I have hated strawberries my entire life. I bought some and ate them and I pray I don't dream about them anymore. My husband has this old fashioned theory if that if I crave something, I have to eat it because the baby wants it. I'd better start craving some things I like or else!!

The weird thing is that I don't have any cravings. I figure it is because I am eating a really balanced and healthy diet, so I am not missing anything that would cause a craving. Earlier in my pregnancy I did have a thing for cornnuts, though.

I also am craving strong smelling things. This is my third pregnancy and I crave Eucalyptic soap smell, minty gum flavour and raw parsnips! I also crave root beer. It's very strange, and my first two children are ok... so I'm just going with the flow! I'd love to know what it means and wonder if I am deficient in anything.
