I am currently 22 weeks and have been using the Baby Plus prnatal education system since week 18. This system has 16 lessons you play baby a lesson twice a day for an hour each time - the volume is preset so it is not too loud in the womb for the baby. It sounds like a heartbeat which increases in speed as the lessons progress - success of this system is backed by years of scientific research and product has been available for over 15 yrs i believe. Basically by using this system babysare more relaxed, alert at birth, sleep better, feed and self soothe and later in life reach developmental milestones earlier and are basically prepared to learn. Although the system was expensive, the benefits are priceless - one thing i think every parent wants for their child is to give them the best start in life and i'm hedging my bets on this education system - i think its working as i use the system at regular times - if i am late - baby lets me know by moving about with vigour like clockwork when lesson is due.

I've been playing classical, mostly Vivaldi string concertos to my belly each night when I lay down for bed. I just place the headphones on my belly and relax. The baby moves around quite a bit for a while, then goes to sleep (at least I think that's what she's doing when she stops!) I dont know that it will add to her *intelligence* but a few of my favorite bands turn out to be what my mom was listening to a lot whe I was in her belly. You just never know! Besides, it's great bonding :)

i have been playing classical music through head pones and a walkman as well as books on tape. i put the speakers facing my belly inside my HUGE panties and play them all day while im at work. i guess that im hoping that the music and pleasant voices the baby hears will be more soothing and beneficial than the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. i'm wondering if it will have any positive educational effect? i guess ill have to wait and see!!!

I'm 21 weeks and I read the bible along with baby books daily. I also play lullabyes every night when I go to sleep in hopes that once she is born, I can play them and it will be soothing for her to hear.
