I do have usual symptoms of cramps, backaches, mood swings but what really concerns me is for these past two weeks have have been experiencing short breaths when I am sitting in a vehicle or at work but if i stand up then breathing becomes easier. Jaye: I am also a young mother-to-be at 21 years of age and still in college so I understand pregnancy seems frightening at times.I use to think the same way you did, but if you decide to continue with the pregnancy hold to your guns and don't allow anyone to make you feel inferior for ANY decision you make. You are not the first to experience loneliness and feeling as though no one understands your situation, but have you tried alternative methods.Even if you arent "together" with the father; perhaps try talking to him about your feelings, or have you tried counseling, or a mentor? There are many free or low cost alternatives such as help lines that maintain confidentiality and might help you get some things off your chest..afterall what do you have to lose besides fear itself? Remember, you did nothing wrong..stay strong and safe.Blessings!

I am only just 19 and found out i am pregnant. I am close with the father but we aren't 'together'. I feel almost like i have a 'diesase' and this really shameful feeling accompanying this. I am so confused, but most of all terrified. I only found out yesterday, but whenever i try to comprehend i am going to be a mother so soon, i have panic attacks....not 'serious' ones, but i feel like i am going crazy. I also feel so alone. Help please...

Can anyone tell me if I am suffering from bad hormones? My partner and I had been trying for approx 6 months for a baby; we were both really pleased when I finally got pregnant. However, at around about the end of 7 weeks pregnant, I suddenly started to change in my feelings towards my partner. I am now 10 and a half weeks and am feeling depressed as I am feeling so irritated by him. I can't even bear for him to touch me/hold my hand etc. Our realtionship was fine before, so I can't understand this sudden strong change in feelings. I already have a child from a previous marriage and never felt like this during that pregnancy. I really am feeling like I have made a mistake with this guy, and worry things will only get worse. Are these hormones playing up, or something else....any ideas/advice?? Thanks!

Hi Jenny i can totally relate to your post. I started having braxton hicks in my 4th month of pregnancy, but did not know that the corset feeling was that. In my 6th month it has gotten even worse, and i was admitted to the hospital for preterm labor 2 weeks ago at only 26 wks. I am on partial bed rest now and was taking procardia for the contractions. I think i am still getting the contractions as i feel tightness in my chest and uterus it feels like a corset. It is so scary i feel like i can't breath and then i develop a panic attack. When the attacks come i do deep breathing and thinking about peaceful things in my mind. This has helped but its not perfect. The cardiologist i consulted said my heart is fine and he sees this a lot in pregnancy, he feels that after i give birth it will go away. Good luck hope my experience has helped you in some way.
