As you can see, I am very early on in this pregnancy, so websites like this are extremely helpful in reassuring me that I'm not the only one out here worrying about all of these things. I just bought "The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy" by Vicki Iovine, and it has been the best money spent in a long time. This book has really answered a lot of questions for me, and in jargon I can understand and laugh with. It even talks about the phantom menstrual cramping (which has been mentioned a lot here) that made me think I was about to start my period, until I realized how late I actually was and took a pregnancy test. I felt pretty stupid at first, then angry that none of my friends who had been pregnant ever mentioned this symptom! (Thanks a bunch, girls) So I highly recommend this book to all you pregnant ladies, it covers everything. Good luck new mommies!

I am 10 wks pg and I am very worried that I wont have a healthy baby. My friend just had a baby and her child is not breathing on his own due to the ambilical cord being wrapped around his neck. He also had to have a Blood transfusion. I worry for her and I worry about complications in my pregnancy.

I am 23 weeks and have been experiencing a lot cramping like period cramping. I am guessing it is just braxton hicks but, I do not remember them to be so uncomfortable and sometimes painful with my first child. The other day I was having them every 20-30 minutes it seemed like for about three hours. Tell me what you think? Braxton Hicks?

Hello! I am 20 and expecting my first child. I too have the typical pregnancy worries of losing the baby or wether or not she will be healthy. Everyone goes through that though!!! Right now I am 23 weeks pregnant and have new worries. about two weeks ago my step-son, age 4, accidently kicked me in the belly. Since then I have not felt my baby move and I have a numb feeling in the left side of my belly. If anyone knows what might cause the numb sensation please let me know!

Hi All! Several people have written about their worries about cramping in the lower abdomen. Early in my first trimester I experienced the same thing...it worried me to death...to the point of loosing sleep over it. Come to find out, my doctor said mine was just the expanding of my uterus. She said it was fairly normal and not to worry unless I started spotting. Anyway...just thought I would share my piece of mind!! :-)
