I'm 18 and 31 weeks pregnant and I' want a girl but something wants me to believe that it is a boy. Once, i had said if it was a boy i would be devestated. But now, I have come to realize that it shouldn't matter whether it's a boy or girl as long as the child is breathing and healthy..

My biggest pet peeve is whenever people say goodness you are HUGE or are you having twins? If i was not pregnant i don't think people would find it necessary to be so overly critical of my body.

UNWANTED ADVICE. Like I am not a total moron, I can read, ask questions and make up my own mind. But these people (especially in-laws) who tell you what to do are peeving me off BIG TIME. My hubby is one of 3 kids and his sister has 3 kids, so his mum is just full of what to do/not to do, and his dad is always saying i should listen to his mum because she has such a wealth of knowledge. Like this is really unfair - it is our first baby, we want to take this journey of discovery, and learn along the way, not be given a set of rules to follow. I am so afraid his mum's views will clash with mine (some clashes already - e.g. I want a waterbirth and she thinks its unsafe, and whilst I'm fine with some 2nd hand stuff I think a breastpump should be new and she thinks its a waste of money when I can have my sister-in-laws for free). And don't get me started on my father-in-law who is a university lecturer, and who lectures me on the subject of waterbirth being unsafe and c-sections much safer (his daughter need an emergency one, so now they think I should ELECT) - I totally confronted him with the side effects of c-section and left him gawping like fish out of water. So now he's moved onto greeting the belly (but not me) when I come round with my husband and asking me what the belly has been upto. This gets pretty tiring, especially when we visit once or twice a week, and I am now 28wks along, its like, OK, its moving in there..... what more do you want me to say????? And to all those ladies talking about weight gain - oh I am so with you! I am 28ks and have gained 11kg (24lbs). I'm monitoring my weight but not anal about it. However my (other) sister-in-law is also pregnant and 1wk ahead of me - she's gained hardly anything, infact I'd be suprised if it was 5kg, she's still not showing (whereas some people have come up to me and presumed I'm 30 or 32 wks - also univited)! Its like yes, I have a belly, there's a baby in there and just what do you expect???

Oh my! This is hilarious because I share a lot of the same pregnancy pet peeves. A couple of the ones that are driving me crazy now at 28 weeks are: 1. Girl, you are not going to September, you look like you are going to have that baby now! 2. Are you having twins? 3. Do you know what you are having (and when I say no, they ask "why not"? which drives me insane) and 4. Dang! It looks like that baby has dropped are you carrying low (duh if you say it looks like I dropped, what the heck do you think, lol) Thanks for letting me vent ladies.

This is my third baby--my two daughters are 10 and 7 years old. I get tired of people asking "So, was this planned?" (it was) I don't really feel I should have to explain my family planning plan to casual acquaintances. Another peeve--having to get up 3 times a night to pee and then not being able to fall asleep again!
