Actually due 2008. I would never, ever recommend scheduling a c/s for a selected date, especially a primary c/s! This is major surgery and comes with all the complications, including infection, blood loss, breathing problems for baby such as respiratory distress, catheter infection and injury and adhesions among many more... I have had 2 c/s and they are not fun. Breastfeeding is harder along with bonding, since you don't see your baby right away. Recovery is 6 weeks! You can't drive right away or vacuum either! No lifting items heavier than baby, etc. If you are considering a primary c/s, please reconsider...

I believe it is the mother's right to choose how she wants to give birth.

I'm more into mother nature taking its course, however sometimes labor places a lot of stress on us and it can't be a matter of what you want. Being pregnant with twins, I WANT to deliver naturally when they're ready, but my doctor said it could be a C-section.

I had to have an emergency C-section with my son or he would have died. They lost his heart rate during labor. Now I have to have another C-section because I have a pelvic fracture and would never be able to deliver vaginally. I find it difficult to decide on a date for my daughter's birthday, and am looking into numerology and astrology. There is a place for scheduled C-sections, because unfortunately we all can't do the 'natural' thing.

Personally, I find it weird knowing the exact day that my baby will be born. I find it more exciting not knowing and having it be a surprise when I go into labor.

I'm a very firm believer in the simple thought that everyone makes the choice that's right for them. I personally want a natural birth. A C-section is only welcome in my birth for emergencies. The baby will come when she's ready. :) I only hope that any woman making the decision to have a planned C-section has someone lined up to help take care of their baby while they are "layed out."
