let it come when it wants the baby knows that it is ready. it usually comes when the lungs are formed 100%. unless there is something wrong with the baby or mother, i think we should wait n let them come when they are ready.

I think people should be able to decide for themselves when it comes to scheduling labor. The only reason I'm having a c-sec this time is because with my previous vaginal birth, my son had severe shoulder dystocia and died 4 days later due to lack of oxygen during the vag birth. Still because I'm having a c-section I get a lot of criticism from others who swear they know what's better for me and my baby. Why not educate women who are maybe afraid of vaginal birth on how much they CAN handle by having a c-sec instead? Then women wouldn't berate other women because of their choice of how we bring our children into this world. We as women who need to support each other in our individual choices and stop pretending like we know what's best for others just because the situation may have been best for us.

Let the baby come when it's ready! No scheduled c-sections unless something is wrong. My sis-in-law had a planned induction (the doctor suggested it because it was right before Thanksgiving) and she was in labor for 17 hours - that kid just did NOT want to come out. Everyone else on the maternity floor was induced too, and one girl was in labor for 26 hours. Yes, 26. Babies will come when THEY'RE ready. If you have to be so prepared for baby's birth, maybe you shouldn't have one because the rest of your life certainly ain't gonna be so planned!

If you must have a c-section for necessary reasons, then of course go for it but be prepared, more has to heal and therefore healing takes longer. If you don't, then try and have a natural birth, apaft from the amazing experience it kicks starts your body and the baby's for the next stage. People have been doing it for centuries, don't deprive yourself, just be ready and don't panic, you can do it!

I had an unplanned c-section with my first, and I'm thinking a scheduled one this time might be nice. But when can my doctor and I set the date? I have an appointment Tuesday, could we schedule it then? Help!

We will be having a scheduled induction again this time but not a c-section. We live about 1 hour from the hospital and lucky for me our last baby came very quickly (20 mins) to get from 5-10cm then 3 pushes. We don't care about the birthdate we just prefer a hospital setting over the highway! good luck to all!
