I am not pregnant but my sister in law just had a baby by scheduling its delivery date which I think nature should be allowed to handle that, and here is a good reason. She was due the 19,she was induced yesterday. After trying labor, she wouldnt dilate more than 2 cm, so ened up with C-section. Baby by weighed a wopping 5' 12 oz and was only 16 inches long. Sounds like doc got his estimated due date a little off.

People don't just schedule birthdays for convenience. Oftentimes there is a medical reason.

I think that if a woman has a choice and really wants to chose to have a c-section, that it's her prerogative and no one else should get upset about it since there's no harm to the baby (as long as the c-section is not scheduled too early). I personally would not choose a c-section. But I've heard of women scheduling c-sections so their husbands can be there with them before they have to leave the country (as in military personnel) which I totally understand.

I think natural is best, although it would be simplier to know when baby is coming, going into labor in the supermarket with all my children with me, and no one at home to watch them would be a nightmare...I got induced with all my births and I liked that, it was planned, and I was ready for it, and everything was taken care of. I hope I got through it like that again.

I have to have a c-section since I had one before with my twins 12 years ago. Even though I have had three natural births since then. It seems silly to me since now it will be a much longer recovery instead of the usual two hours that I'm in labor, but that is the hospitals policy.

I think that the baby should come in it's own time, because then there is less of a likelihood of complications. Why have a surgery for something that is not needed? It is asking for trouble. I want to experience my baby being born- not just have him cut out of me. If it is needed, of course! But if everything is fine, why do that?
