My husband and I told our immediate family (our other children) at 6 weeks. I also told close personal friends, but otherwise we plan to wait until the 3 month mark when we've passed the first trimester to announce it to extended family, church, employer, etc. Our children think 3 months is a LONG time for them to "keep a secret", but we felt strongly that we wanted them to know and be excited with us! We waited a long time for this one (almost 7 years) With extended family, it has been my tradition to send a Congratulations card announcing they are going to be a (grandma, auntie, uncle...) AGAIN! Much fun!

Hi I think the workplace should be told after the 12 week.

Well, as soon as we found out my husband told everybody. And when we went to the store or something and seen one of his or our friends...he just had to tell them. So I guess it's not a big secret. I kind of wanted to wait just make sure everythin's fine......oh well!!

After 2 miscarriges we are pregnant again and sooo excited. We have been very careful not to tell anyone until we hit the 12 week mark. My family is out of town and we plan to visit before Christmas. We will spill the beans then by having our 3 yr old daughter show up wearing a t-shirt stating that she is going to be a big sister. It will be fun to see how long it takes them to figure out our big news!

My husband and I couldn't wait to tell everyone. Actually, he started to tell everyone that we thought we were pregnant based on symptoms that I was having a week before the first positive test. My husband has a wacky sense of humor, so when we knew for sure that I was pregnant I gave him a shirt that read, "All Hail the Baby Maker" that is how we officially told our families and friends.

I wish I could have waited to tell everyone all together and that it had been a suprise, but I couldn't. We told everyone as soon as the first test showed positive. It is a very hard secret to keep, especially when this will be the first grandchild and the first great grandchild for my family.
