I am pregnant for the third time this year. I have had two first trimester miscarriages, and somehow had the courage to try one more time . We told only close friends and no relatives for the first one. With the first baby, we only told relatives after I miscarried in the fifth week that I had been pregnant. I was so sick with the second one that close friends and family figured it out, but I miscarried in my seventh week with my second. I think the fact that the people I work with did not know about my pregnancy made it easier to "escape" from my sadness at work after my miscarriages, but it was helpful to have people who knew what was going on so that they could comfort me or just cry with me when the pregnancies ended. For this third one, I am only telling the people who are closest to us. Every day will be agony with this one (wondering if it's going to end with every little twinge or cramp), so we will tell the people who were there for us for the last two miscarriages right away because I need them now to get through my "danger" weeks, and I will not announce it to anyone at work until I am at least 15 weeks.

I made the mistake of telling my parents and family as soon as I found out. I debated about telling them later in my pregnancy, but felt that would be close to disrespectful. Now, I wish I had waited. No one is really supportive and they all think I am ruining my life.

I just got a positive hpt and my blood work is due back from the dr's in the next day or so. I am about 5 weeks along and VERY excited. I told my husband and we want to wait to tell, but my sister (we are extremely close) knew when she saw me last and I couldn't hide it. She is of course estatic, but now I am trying to keep my husband as well as my sister quiet and it is HARD. When to tell our parents?? Should I wait until 12 weeks?
