I'm 36 weeks and have had 5 ultrasounds and will be having them weekly until my baby girl is born. I always find these ultrasounds make me feel reassured.

When I fell pregnant 91/2 years ago with our first, I was having cramps at 8 weeks, so I had a vaginal ultrasound. It was horrible, and I lost the babe the next day! When I fell again a year later the first scan I had showed up cysts on our baby's head. Lots of concern and another ultrasound, they were still there.I was informed I probably wouldn't have the babe naturally beacuse the cysts were growing....worry..worry...just what you don't need! Our little girl was born naturally in 6 hours!! No swollen head, no cysts!!!!I have had one scan with the last 3 babe's, but I won't this time. The radiation that the woman alone is open to is soooo scary, thats without what the babe gets. We are so careful with what we eat while we are preg, why aren't we concerned about the unnessary radiation we so willingly expose them too??

I had an ultrasound at about 5 or 6 weeks into my pregnancy because I was spotting a little bit. The day I went for my ultrasound the spotting had pretty much stopped( the spotting had been 2 to 3 days-very light and dark colored) and after the ultrasound i started getting really crampy. It kept getting worse all day and later that night in the middle of the night I miscarried. It was so horrible. I am terrified to get an ultrasound now because I don't want to chance losing the baby again. Has anyone ever heard of a doctor doing a vaginal ultrasound while the mom is spotting? I woke up that morning with strong unexplainable feelings not to goto the ultrasound but my husband encouraged me to go anyways. I say to all you women FOLLOW YOUR GUTT FEELINGS, your body knows whats best for you. I still can't help but wonder if things would have turned out different for me if i would have listened to my gutt and not went to the ultrasound

I am 31weeks and have had 7 ultrasounds already. The first they thought I was carrying twins. Found out I wasn't but then they found I had placenta previa. then i had another and it had taken care of itself. then they thought i had kidney stones (turned out I stretched a ligament) then they did the measurements and the baby wasnt cooperating so i went for yet another and when the results came back they were worried about the babies size so i had to go to a specialist...every thing is fine but i havent had an ultrasound in a month and now im worried that because they cant see what is going on something might be wrong again...plus my first baby book is already almost filled with pictures I want to finish it!

I love going for my scans i had my 12 week scan and it made my life a lot better knowing id seen a baby their and its heart beating on the screen but it was tiny, my 5 month scan i had to find out the sex and i was told a girl which is what i wanted anyway so ive bonded a lot more with my bump since then and ive got a scan in two weeks private 4d but you have to pay fir that and get a dvd of your baby and photos for all the family to see and share the wonderful experience. also got 34 week scan just to check pos of baby that will prob be nerve racking...
