Hi livvyloo: I had a similar experience with my first pregnancy -- I had a negative test several days before my missed period, and then a positive test several days after my missed period. Around the third week fetal age (5 weeks after my last period), I started spotting and went to an OB/GYN who detected a sack/yolk, similar to what you described. There was no heartbeat at that point but they told me that was normal. I went back 2 weeks later and there was a heartbeat. What I didn't know then was that I was spotting due to low progesterone; no one ever tested my progesterone through the next 3 weeks of spotting. And I eventually miscarried that pregnancy. So, I'm glad to hear your doctor is already testing your progesterone and has put you on Prometrium. 13 is a little low for progesterone levels, but it doesn't neccessarily mean you'll m/c. Did you have your progesterone tested again since you started on the Prometrium? I would just demand that from your doctor, if for no other reason than peace of mind. My level with my current pregnancy went from 10 to 21 after just five doses of Prometrium! One thing I've read is that often, women who get pregnant while breast feeding will have low levels of progesterone. Are you breast feeding right now, or were you when you got pregnant? That could be the cause for a semi-low level. Good luck! It sounds like you're on top of the situation, which is more than half the battle :)
