JanaKM: When I had my miscarriage, I actually bled for an entire month before entirely miscarrying. They didn't think I was miscarrying because my cervix wasn't dialated. So if your cervix is dialated, that is a sure sign of miscarriage. Also, I had cramping almost within my vaginal walls -- very, very low in the pubic area, not higher up where you might have normal period cramps. And the sure give away was the sheer amount of blood being passed -- I literally passed plugs of blood every 20 minutes for 2 hours. The amount of blood in the toilet was horrifying; it looked like a war zone. I realized that that was the miscarriage -- the sheer volume of blood was about 100x more than the spot bleeding I'd had for the prior month. Good luck and hang in there! I didn't have IVF so am not sure what extra circumstances come with that. Just wanted to share my miscarriage symptoms in case they're helpful.
