Though it is rare for an uncircumcised males to get infection it is far more rare for those that are circumcised. It is just an extra precaution that is good to take. It is true that it is not as common as it used to be. The hospital I will deliver at does not even do routine circumcisions. I too have had a hard time deciding. But my husband is circumcised so I think our son will be too.
