Benzodiazapan(spelled something like that) isn't suggested to be used, but you are probably okay. I had an RN tell me it was okay to take xanax, but my doc said there haven't been enough 'studies' on the effect of xanax on an embryo to confirm it as being a teratogen. I'm not sure about ambien. I would say if you didnt abuse anything to a ridiculous extent you'll be fine. I would ask your doc about the ambien for sure though!
Also, a friend of mine is 9 months pregnant, and took quite a few xanax before she found out she was pregnant at 7 weeks, and her pregnancy has progressed fine. Good Luck
