I have my first prescription of clomid just waiting for my next period. I was told at a young age that I wouldn't be able to conceive at all, but that was not true. I have a 3 yr. old conceived naturally (no birth control ever), but that was a HUGE surprise. Now, we deperately want another child, especially since I just miscarried twins at 12 weeks (ID twins in the same sac). I just had my first period since the loss, but it was very light and only lasted a couple of days (my normal periods are heavy and last on an average 6-7 days). I have a luteal phase defect (short) and I also have a low progesterone level normally. Also, although I tend to have my periods regularly, according to my charts, temps, and ov predictors, I only ovulate 4-5 times out of the year. Now that I'm being closely monitored by an OB/perinatologist, I feel much better about all of this. What I am worried about is the multiples possibility. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to have twins but no more than that (especially now that we lost twins). I realize that ID twins have no bearing on me conceiving twins again. However, with the combo. of Clomid and a family history of twins (my grandmother was twin, and she conceived twins herself as well), what are the odds for me? As I said before, we would be completely overwhelmed, but in all honesty, I myself would LOVE to have twins. Regardless, just to have a sweet, healthy newborn in my arms again is my most ultimate goal.
I look forward to getting to know you all better, and my thoughts & prayers are with you!
