natashajo - yes, yours are identical. one placenta always identical. fraternals because they are two eggs and two sperm always have their own of everything. the membrane you mentioned that separates them is what makes them "diamniotic" rather than "monoamniotic". i had monochorionic twins in 2003 - they are at risk for twin to twin transfusion syndrome. take extra care and make sure your dr is more careful monitoring you and the babies. one of my little ones died due to ttts. good luck to you! hope everything goes perfectly!
