Once again, maybe this is a cultural difference? Here in the US, the classification of Advanced Maternal Age is the age 35 and older... that is readily available information to anyone who bothers to look it up. And I'll say for the last time... I am not against the use of Clomid, only the ILLEGAL use of an UNPRESCRIBED drug. Because this is currently so readily available on the net, women who have no business taking it are geting it. Teens who think twins would be fun. Women trapping their husbands/boyfriends. It is not at all difficult to get Clomid prescribed. Your doc does a work up to make sure it is somewhat safe for you to take, and prescribes you a few doses. You pay your $30 at the pharmacy ( that is full price here.. not covered by insurance) and go on your merry little way. If your doc refuses to prescribe, then either find a new doc or consider your reasons for wanting it in the first place, and his reasons for refusing to prescribe. I have to point out, Liza, that there are several widely publicised (sp?) cases here in the US of women with quads, quints, etc that are ALL the result of unprescribed Clomid use. When you stimulate a non-functional, etc, ovary you get 1, maybe 2 eggs. When you stimulate an already fully functional ovary you can get 2, 3, 4 ,or more eggs. Once again, this is all information that is readily available, either through a conversation with your doctor, or through independent research. I'm not against wanting multiples, pur-sae, It is the wanton abandon of all rational thought and the embracement of illegal, potentially harmful practices in order to conceive multiples that bugs me. It SHOULD bug everyone. NEVER is an illegal thing a good thing, especially when there are so many safe, legal, herbal options out there.
