I'm a mother of 2 singletons and triplets. My triplets were conceived spontaneously and it just blows me away that there are women out there that would CHOOSE to purposely try to get pg with multiples by taking clomid unprescribed. My triplets are such a blessing, but they were born at 30 weeks (the average gestation for trips), 2 have cerebral palsy, and I spent 4 weeks in the hospital in pre-term labor (not fun!). Although I feel completely blessed to have triplets, it's not something I would never try to play God and increase my chances of having multiples. Let God be the one to decide to give you multiples or not... and I'm not talking about the ladies out there who struggle with infertility and take Clomid PRESCRIBED or go through IVF, IUI, etc. I'm talking to those of you who don't even have fertility problems and yet for your own selfish reasons are taking drugs (illegally) in hopes of getting pg with twins or more. Come on! Grow up, wake up, and smell the coffee! Yes, multiples are a miracle and can bring so much joy (as ALL children do!), but unfortunately they also come along with a lot of hard WORK and higher chance of disabilities due to being born prematurely. With 2 of my triplets having special needs, I could never forgive myself if I had chosen to purposely get pg with them by taking clomid unprescribed. At least those of us with multiples who conceived spontaneously or via fertility drugs/treatments (prescribed and monitored of course!) can have a peace of mind when/if our multiples suffer any long term effects of being premature, at least we didn't try to play "God" and we did it the "right" and "legal" way.
