I had my baby boy on monday. He is a 34 week old preemie, and doing great considering. He weighed 4lbs 10oz, and was 18 1/4 inch long. His apgar score was a 9, which is unbelievable. They think I can bring him home next week, because he is doing so well. The whole reason I had him so early by c-section was because I was having complications with my heart. I have a aicd in place for risk of sudden cardiac death, due to a rare heart disease called hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. I went through so much during my pregnancy, and certainly had anxiety. I worried so much! One day I picked up my bible to read it, and look to God for comfort, because at that point my family, friends, and even doctors could not fully convince me that I would be o.k. or that my little boy would be o.k.
I turned right to a verse that basically told me to stop worrying. Talking to God really helped me, and continues to help me. When I had my daughter 7 years ago c-section (without symptoms or even knowledge that I had a heart disease) I was nervous then too, but made it through and bounced back rather qiuckly. Hopefully I do with this one also, but for now I am extremely thankful that my son is doing well and I made it through to raise my two beautiful children, and my husbands two beautiful children. You will do fine, and who knows, you may not even need a c-section. If you do, try and stay awake though, it's worth all the anxiety, and panic attacks. I'll be praying for you.
