Tosyn - I had trouble actually pushing or knowing I was pushing effectively - I had been given an epidural and they suggested I was getting too much medication to "feel" what I was doing, so they backed the medication off...after that they also brought out a mirror for me to see my daughter's head as it was crowning - some find that gross, but it really helped me. As for positions, I tried them all! :-)
