My sister has had 2 children and both times she was pregnant her OB put her on macrobid and both of her little girls were and are perfectly fine. My sister was prone to them while she was pregnant. If you are really uncomfortable with taking it call and ask your local pharmacist for some reassurance. I am sure your physician would not put you on a medication that would be harmful to your baby. UTI's left untreated are very dangerous and Justine is right it will travel to your kidneys and you may actually start bleeding when you urinate, that is a symptom that you let it go too long without being treated and make sure that you take it for the full length of the perscription, bacteria grow really well in warmth so even if you start feeling fine and you no longer have any symptoms you may still have the bacteria...I know that sounds gross...but I hope this helps you.
