Not much of a response in a week of waiting - not many Canadian lawyers on the forum. This is a tough situation, though not uncommon. You should congratulate yourself for recognizing abuse and deciding to leave. Many can't bring themselves to do that. You may be able to find a spouse abuse shelter which will host you for a while. After that, it's back to the parents, partner with another woman in a similar situation, or dump the kids on his doorstep and let him find out how easy it is. That last solution is one of desperation, and you have to consider the effect it will have on the kids. Sympathy, and good luck!
