I developed what I belive to be PUPPP rash during my 20th week.(this week) I went to see my GP DR and he thought it was an allergic reaction. I believed him because i had recently began using some new cream to prevent stretch marks and he felt i could be reacting to that. He prescribed me Benadryl. I became suspicious after several doses of benadryl failed to make a dent in the rash/itching. My hubby did some research on the computer and pulled up info on PUPPP rash and what they describe and how it progresses is EXACTLY what i've been experiencing. I've tossed the benadryl and and keeping a bottle of calamine lotion on hand which helps dull the itchiness. I've heard that plain oatmeal soothes the itching for a bit among many other treatments. IE topical steriod creams, hydrocortisone, plain yogurt, cold compresses. I made an appt to see my OBGYN for this tues to bring it to his attention and get his feedback on what I should do about it. It seems to be getting a TEENY bit better on my tummy. It started in my belly button and traveled to my abdoment above the belly button, it has since gone horizontally accross my abdomen and today it started to travel to the under parts of my breasts. VERY uncomfortable. Supposedly this does no go away until you deliver. Doctors have even induced labor early because the woman was extremely uncomfortable.
