My friend has 2 twin boys (now 12 mos) and when she went on maternity leave she only got 12 wks not 24 wks. She lives in MN. Not sure though on what laws applies to you if you lived in NY. You should visit this website www.laborlawtalk.com then under maternity leave you should be able to ask q's and get some answers.
