I am so glad I found this forum knowing I am not alone! I am 36, my first pregnancy. At 9 weeks, my OB discovered a blighted ovum which had not grown past 5 weeks. She sent me home with 4 tablets of Misoprostol and Vicodin for pain. I took the day of and the day after off from work.

At 1:30 PM, I inserted all 4 Misoprostol tablets vaginally. Took two Vicodin as well.

At 5:30 PM, I passed a golf ball sized clot. Bleeding was heavier. Cramping very slight thanks to the Vicodin I'm sure.

At 6:30 PM, Took two more Vicodin. More heavy bleeding. Passed a couple of smaller clots. Felt cramping discomfort but certainly not painful.

At 10 PM, Took two more Vicodin. Bleeding was lightening up. No pain. No significant clots. Went to bed.

At 8:30 AM the next morning, woke up. Felt like I was having a regular period. Went to my OB. She verified the contents had passed successfully. Now she considers the residual bleeding just a regular period. I would say this experience was easy for me. My advice is to take the pain meds BEFORE the pain starts. Take every 4 hours as directed. Lay on the couch or in bed with a heating pad, watch movies or TV, and take it easy until all the clots pass. I used Always brand Overnight Pads and had no accidents or leakage. Looking forward to ttc again! Thank you for sharing your stories!
