Hi Gem...I am 24 and going through my 1st m/c (1st time pg also). I was 4 wks last week when I had my first exam. I had to know whether I was pg or not that early b/c I had a nucleur thyroid scan scheduled by my family doc (which could obviously not happen if I WAS pg!!) The dr didn't see anything on my u/s, which was ok b/c I was so early. I've had 5 blood tests since then to monitor my levels. They were going up but very slowly (120,180,266, then 166...I don't know my most recent # yet) One evening I started having pretty bad pains. I equated them to gas pains but very strong! The pain kept me up all night with little relief, it hurt to stand, walk, sit, lay...I went to the ER then next day. I had had minimal brownish bleeding all along (mainly only when I wiped) and there was no change in that, but the pain was just so severe. After a more in-depth u/s and 2 catheters (no fun!) I was told that I was miscarrying. I saw my ob yesterday and he recommended a DNC for today b/c there is fluid behind my uterus...possibly from a break in the tube caused by an ectopic. I'm very nervous right now, as I am scheduled for a DNC in 4 hours. But I've already started looking on the bright side and would like to start ttc asap. I don't have much experience on this Gem, but my best advice to you is to try and relax. That's the best thing for you and your baby. I know waiting is not easy, but God will take care of everything. Good luck! (Think positive!)
