Daniella, I never believed that it was possible to ovulate more than once a cycle either until I started taking notice of my body and asking questions! Some doctors point blank refuse to acknowledge that it's possible, but others have taken on board recent research that has shown it can happen. I have no idea why the damaged ovary would release an egg slightly later, I can only go by what the doctor and midwife suggested. I'm no medical expert, all I have to go by is my own body! I have never given birth. I have never been fortunate enough to carry a pregnancy beyond a few weeks. I miscarried twice while I was on the pill (I have a long history of health issues, one of which is endometriosis for which I was put on the pill. Sadly the hormone levels in the pill were never strong enough to suppress the bleeding enough to really help - the only high dose pill available in the UK that worked for me was withdrawn because not enough people used it, and he only remaining high dose kind just made me bleed non-stop) and I started getting breakthrough ovulation. I had a very early miscarriage last year in which my hormone levels just weren't increasing enough so the pregnancy 'wasn't viable'. This time, the baby stopped growing at 5 or 6 weeks and I started bleeding at 8 weeks. It turned out there was a twin which died earlier in the pregnancy too. I just feel like a medical mess :( I am just hoping that perhaps this last pregnancy has helped to clear the way for a healthy pregnancy in the future.
