Well just got home from my apt. Some how it got scheduled for a different doctor. Thats OK though, because the doctor I seen today is my fav. out of the 4 here (well 3 docs, 1 midwife). They were kinda concerned because my uterus is measuring smaller. Last week it measured a week smaller and now its even less than last week. I measured at 36 weeks today. So, they were a bit concerned that he's no longer growing. Hopefully the cord isn't around his neck. Doubt it since his head is engaged, but you never know. Anyhow, this doctor had no problem sweeping my membranes. He told me he would have definitely done it last week. Gosh, I wish I had him last week and not my regular doc. LOL... There is 3 doctors here... One female (my doctor and very young and new).... a fruit cake doctor (also young and definitely gay and he floats, lol)... and this doctor I seen today. He is the oldest of the 3 and gets down to the point, yet extremely nice. The other one here is a midwife that has been for 30 years. She is great... but, I just met her and didn't really even know we had a midwife until recently, so its a bit too late now to have her. ANYHOW...... the doctor I seen today said he usually does the membrane sweeping at 38 weeks, but even does it at 37 weeks. The only reason I think my doctor waits until 39 weeks is because she is still new and doesn't want to take any risks. Anyhow, it wasn't as bad as some women make it out to be. A little uncomfortable, but not crying pain. He said the membranes were so thick that he had a rough time sweeping them off the sac and that is probably why I haven't gone into labor yet. Guess with good nutrition, etc. your sac and membranes get pretty thick. Well, he said that I should go into labor within 24-48 hours. Gosh, I sure hope so!!!!
