Karen, isn't it so frustrating though? My period was completely normal before my son, and then after before I started birth control. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in Nov. 2004, and from then to now I've had either no period at all or extremely painful very light periods. I can't count the number of tests I've gone through. I've had regular ultrasounds, and even 3 intervaginal ultrasounds (which for anyone who doesn't know are exactly what they sound like). I've been put on so many different type of birth control to try and "fix" the pain and such, and nothing has worked. So now the doctor isn't sure whether or not I have endometriosis, because the only way to know for sure is a biopsy of the cells, and since I'm in good health with no fertility problems (yet) they don't want to perform the surgery. Which is alright, I don't really want an exploritory surgery anyway. I just hate being told by a doctor "let's wait and see" it drives you crazy! Makes me want to try and get pregnant just to see what the heck is wrong with me. If I'm trying and nothing's happening, maybe the doctor will be more willing to run more tests. Good luck with the ultrasound, I hope you get an answer either way!
