Hi if I were you I would wait and see what they tell you at the level 2 sono I have had 2 and they are really clear and they can tell alot from them....there are alot of "soft markers" for ds and other things that they look for I know this due to my triple screen came back positve for trisomy 18 1/41 chance which trisomy 18 is really bad much worse than ds so I was scared to death as well I am 35yrs old funny thing is my chance for ds came back as 1/10000 but when they did the level 2 they found not one soft marker at all and I declined the amino due to this cause I am like you I did not want to take a risk I did not have too and they will tell you the spots are seen on healthy babies all the time with the level 2 sono they will get a much much better look at the baby and so will you!! You will really enjoy the level 2 it is nothing like the reg sono and it takes about 45mins they check EVERYTHING and if it was like mine the neonatal doctor comes in and goes over what they found and then if they find serveral soft markers you can choose to have the amino right then but I am sure you will find out good news and all is ok but I know that it is very scary I was sooooo scared you would not believe but it all turned out well and they recomended to have a follow up level 2 with me just to make sure 4wks later and I got some great 4-D pics of the baby it was wonderful to see him so clear well good luck and post back as soon as you find out!!
