I would just tell the state exactly what you saw and what action you took and say that you just want to follow-up. I could see that the school may not contact you, because there would be that fear that you may sue them and if they call and check some attorney could take that as them admitting their fault. I know it's sad, but true child care providers have to be extremely careful because of the few sue people happy out there.
