With my 2nd and 3rd we did mostly breastfeeding with 1 or 2 formula bottles a day for each of them. I really wanted to with my oldest, but I waited too long... 4 weeks or so... and he wouldn't take the bottle at all. We started at one week with bottles with my 2nd and 3rd. There is always a chance of nipple confusion, fortunately mine never had it...
