4 days is like an absolute minimum. It usually isn't that early. About 6 days I think is normal.
And yes I'm 18. Technically I'm not making it. I didn't put a roof over my child's head, I didn't pay for the bed she sleeps in. It wasn't until she was like 9 months old I think that I was able to pay for her clothes, food and diapers... She doesn't have insurance. Financially, which is a major part in raising a child, I'm doing a crappy job. I'm no role model for teen parents so please don't look at me like one. I do what I can for my daughter, I try the best I can, but if I hadn't had any help she wouldn't be mine. The only credit I can give for the life my daughter has is to my grandma who's been helping me. As for the part that I do.. When I found out I was pregnant I hit the books. I read every parenting book, every pregnancy book, every newborn book, every toddler book, every children's book, every teen's book, I lived and breathed anything parenting related. I asked my doctor wayyy too many questions, I went to people who were parents and asked them their opinions on whatever matters, what they would have done differently in their parenting.. The baby stage is the easy part. You just have to make sure they are clean, happy and don't die. The growing up part though... kids start to get complicated around the time they start discovering their sexual parts, which studies say averages around 5 years of age, which is also when they begin to masturbate. From 5 to about 20, that's the hard part. It takes so much time and careful consideration. Those are the years that determine whether or not you're a good parent. So I can't even tell you if I'm gonna handle it, I can't tell you if I'll make it or be a good parent because I just don't know yet. You never know until the time comes. People think once you handle the baby stage that's the tough part... No way. Pregnancy, labor, the first couple years, that's a walk in the park.
