Hi Joker! How are you doing? Did you start taking the drugs? I am in a very similar situation. I had a miscarriage in july (week 14 - see in the fibroids-thread...). Nobody knows, if it was because of the two fibroids (8 and 10 cm). However, they haven't shrunk since and I have even developped a third one.... Since I am still bleeding 9 weeks after the mc, my gyn recommended to take them all out. In order to shrink them, I will get "Lupron Depot" via shots starting tomorrow and then have the surgery in 4 to 6 month. I am a bit worried about being put in "artificial" menopause, how will my body react to the drugs? Since my insurance doesn't cover a laparoscopy ("modern" surgery with a camera, which would mean only a small cut and little recovery time), I will have a laparotomy to remove the fibroids. I am scared that this surgery will influence my chances of getting pregnant again...Also, it sounds like a long process.... How dou you feel about the surgery? Will you have it the traditional way or will you have a laparoscopy? I would like to hear more about your thought and fears.... Are you glad you're going to have the fibroids removed or do you have doubts too? I have read of so many women who had a baby despite having fibroids, that I sometimes think, I should just go ahead and try to get pregnant again without having the fibroids removed, and then let destiny decide....- To read MelissaK's story, who had the fibroids removed and got pregnant right away, was very comforting.. However, it is sad to read that you have complications again... How are you doing, Melissa? I pray that your pregnancy is progressing and the Baby is doing fine. Please, let me know, how you are all doing.
