simone: My doctor says he likes to see at least a 66% increase in hcg levels every 2-3 days. It looks like your levels are low but increasing by at least 66%. Many articles I have read say that it is the rate at which the hcg rises and not how low the number is. I can see your concern for an ectopic. It's on my mind too with my low but rising hcg levels. What color is your spotting? Usually spotting with an ectopic is brown. Is this your only sympton? Any pelvic discomfort only on one side, or any back pain? Waiting to be rechecked on the 8th week may be to late if an ectopic is suspected. I truly wish you had access to a vaginal ultrasound. I believe this would put your mind at ease. I had one successful pregnancy and I spotted brown when I was 3-4 weeks pregnant. Some women spot throughout their pregnancy. Well good luck and don't wait until the 8th week if you show other symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy. Please keep me posted.
