Does anyone have some insights or at least some good websites to get educated on our situation?: At my 6 week ultrasound we could see the sac but no baby - my hcg was only 11,000 despite being 8,900 3 days earlier. Went back at week 7 expecting to confirm no baby only to have the ultrasound show a strong heartbeat (140+) and an estimated age of 6-3 (we're pretty certain that the baby should be a little over 7 wks now). We were all excited until we found out that my hcg was 25,000 - 10 days after being 11,000. The doc told us that the slow hcg growth meant the baby wasn't healthy and that it was just a matter of time before miscarriage. We're confused since the heartbeat was so strong and a lot of the published material makes a strong 6 week ultrasound sound like a green light. Can anyone provide us some insight or point us to someplace on point? Thank you
